My acknowledgement and process date is exactly same as you. We applied for 2 adults + 1 child and haven't seen the status changing. Sent an email to the OCI team and their response is we are looking at them. I'm really nervous as we are flying on 14th Dec 2013. My collgue who applied a week after me got it this monday.

Am getting really worried now

I collected mine on Monday. I reached HCI London at about 0845, there were some 20-25 people ahead of me in the queue. The OCI collection counter opened at about 0900 and I was out with my collection token at about 0920 having been told to collect passport between 1630 and 1700.

However, in the afternoon it was a strange situation. I reached at about 1610 and there was already a serpentine queue spilling on to the main road where the Waldorf is located. Luckily, when the counter opened later than 1630, there were 2 people disbursing passports. I was out with my passports before 1700 I think.

Regarding the authorisation letter, I am not sure since I was not asked for any authorisation letter either during submission or collection of OCI and I had mine and my spouse application submitted together. Anyway, I had the authorisation letter from my spouse in my back pocket just in case. However, I suspect they may just ask for authorisation letter in the case of your sisters application, what was the procedure during submission of application for your sister?

Her application was posted. They wouldn't except applications in person for siblings.

Is this wording OCI for authorisation letter okay?:

No update today as well. I think the applications processed on 22nd November 2013 is misplaced as many application granted since than arrived. Frustrating as complete lack of information !!

As I'd posted earlier, there's been issues with application processed on 22nd Nov. I kept sending email to OCI team, they confirmed yesterday evening that I could submit my passport with their email confirmation. I would urge others who are in the same status to do the same

I did email them yesterday and the replied saying just check the website. What did you get in your email PODA? Has your documents arrive in London?

After 35 days of acknoledgment i finally see my OCI status as processed. Waiting for it to be dispatched. Spoke to the persons in the Indian Consulate in Dubai they said it should not take more than 7 days now.

You should get by this week if you get dispatched on wednesday they will recieve in london on friday if u get dispatched on thursday than they will recieve by monday in london

Edinburgh is very slow compare to london but my application is making good progress compare to other OCI application at Edinburgh coz average processing time is about 4 to 5 months as per consulate website and staff information.

Mine was a renewal so it got processed very fast, will update when I see my dispatch date. Also PM'd some people on the forum with similar dates asking for them to post. Thank You too

Hi all,

1) Even if my geographical location shows Birmingham as catchment HCI office, can I apply to London either via post or in person?

2) If I need to go to Birmingham only - does it make any difference whether you apply in person or by post (quicker?)

3) Applying in person - do they just take 80 applications/tokens and does one has to be there at 7-8am?.
How long does it take at office when you applying in person?

1. Yes you can apply at any mission, either post or in person.
2. In person is always quicker but I always use the post because of my location.
3. I don't know about this so will leave others to respond.

Went to collect on Friday. Morning got there at 8:15ish. About 30 people in front of me. One counter opened at 9:40. At time of opening there was about 100 people waiting to submit.

In the evening i got to the HCL at about 3:15. there was about 50 people in front. Two counters opened at 4:35. At time of opening i counted 250+ people in queue waiting to collect.

i spoke to someone in line who had been there a few times and they stated its the busiest its ever been for collections. so if you want to submit early i suggest getting there for 8am. and if you want to be the first to collect in the evening, get there for 3pm.

Hi Dzone,

I have not travelled with kids recently and I'm no an expert but the guidance on the Birmingham Consulate gerneal site (FAQ's No:35a) provides the following guidance:

'OCI registration certificate and visa have got to be re-issued each time a new passport is issued up to the completion of 20 years of age and once after completion of 50 years of age......'

I think you should make absolutely sure before your kids travel to avoid any problems.

Hi all

I have marriage certificate (original) as a laminated document and wondered if that is accepted at OCI or not from members experience as website clearly suggests that its not accepted.

For applying in person at London - does one need to be really early in the morning as they seem to issue 175 token per day.

I finally got it this morning.Sunday is open in Dubai. Looking forward for my holiday. Just took 5 minutes to collect at the Indian Consulate.

Note:- When i check my online status yesterday I noticed that the MOIA has updated the site- ordinarily delivery 30 days from date of ccknowledgment to 42 days. so i guess in future OCI is going to take longer. So plan accordingly
