Finally after almost 7 weeks....and now the wait begins......

I wanted to request a return of my documents, not for travel but for identity purposes.I don't understand what they mean that if I travel outside the UK, my application will be withdrawn automatically, if i request them back for identity purposes.What if I do decide to travel, so should I say for travel purpose then?Any response will be appreciated.Sorry if I used wrong place for this email.
