Eligibity: ILR Since God Knows lool but am eligible
Current nationality: Jamaican
Method of application: Self
Date of application: 23/10/13
Date of receipt by UKBA: 24/10/13 (Tracked via Royal Mail)
Date of acknowledgment: Awaiting Acknowledgement letter
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 12/12/13 (Account balance dropped today)
Date approval received:
Date of ceremony:

So guys its very interesting how my account balance was dropped today because I found a new job within the NHS and I need to show my passport (originals) to show proof of identity. I phoned the Croydon HO yesterday and requested my documents back online so today I checked and they have debited my account. So literally it took me to request my documents back for them to finally debit my account kmmmt

I remember the woman telling me yesterday that it may take another two weeks for them to still get through October

no response from them so far
i sent them email yesterday and this is the copy of their response
can confirm you application was received on 25/10/13.

You should receive an acknowledgment letter between 4-6 weeks after we received your application. During busy periods this may even take 7 weeks. If you have not received such a letter, please contact us for a duplicate acknowledgment letter.

I have checked our records and can confirm that no decision has yet been made on your application.

We aim to process 95% of applications within 6 months however there are a small percentage of applications that take longer than this to be resolved.

All applications for citizenship are subject to enquiries to ensure that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. Because of these enquiries, we anticipate that applications may take up to six months to complete. Some applications may be dealt with more quickly and some may take longer, depending on the nature of the enquiries to be carried out. Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide applications for British citizenship. The standard is that we will decide 95% of applications within six months.

When the decision is made, or if we require further information from you, we will contact you in writing.
i think this is te standard response from them
so we need to keep waiting again after 8 weeks
hope will have the good news soon
Djafar007, which email did you use? Can you please share it here because I would like to ask them the same question?

Mine was submitted on 23 Sep through NCS and still no approval.

My ex-husband (we received the ILR together in 2006) sent his application himself just before 25 Oct got the approval letter today.

I am speechless!!!
I was starting think that an application through NCS or the solicitors was the best way to get a quick result. Seeing as you don't have to send all the documents (e.g. passport) with. But I guess not. It's just up to the universe!!!!
My approval was also received yesterday. Letter dated 7 December.
Good luck to everyone!

No action at all on November applications yet. From this forum we've had one fee deduction that we know of from an application received by the UKBA on October 29th, other than that it's all Oct 25th or earlier. Hopefully late next week or the week after we'll start to see fee deductions for November apps. On the positive side, though, the last 24 hours have seen real progress with approvals from October and that's good news for everyone.

I think the problem is that we haven't really seen a major improvement for applications submitted after 23 October. In their standard email response, the HO states that during busy times it may take up to 7 weeks before they debit accounts so does that basically mean that all accounts should be debited before mid-January?
