ILR - PEO appointment on 13/12/2013 - CROYDON (Granted :-) )

Post by shivcs » Tue Dec 10, 2013 9:47 am

Hi,

I am applying for ILR (through Tier 1 route for 5 (3+2) years) on 13th Dec 2013 along with my wife.

First entry clearance stamp: 20/12/2008
Entered UK: 30/01/2009
Visa validity: 29/12/2013

Since I entered within 90 days of entry clearance I believe my 5 year clock starts from 20/12/2008. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have arranged for the following documents

Main applicant
1) SET (O) application form
2) BRP Card
3) Degree Cert / letter from the university stating degree was taught in English / PBS calculator print out which awards 30 for degree and 10 for English language skill
4) LIUK Pass notification letter
5) 12 months payslip
6) 12 months bank statement
7) Employment Letter
8) 2 photographs

Dependent applicant

1) Degree Cert / letter from the university stating degree was taught in English / PBS calculator print out which awards 30 for degree and 10 for English language skill
2) LIUK pass notification letter
3) Co-hab documents
4) Marriage certificate
5) 2 photographs
6) Employment letter

Extra letters for main applicant (don't intend to submit unless asked for)
1) Absence letters from both current and previous employers
2) P60s for all previous years

Extra letters for dependent applicant (don't intend to submit unless asked for)
1) P60s for all previous years
2) 6 months payslips
3) 6 months bank statements

And photocopies of all the documents.

Could you please let me know if there is any other document/s I am missing for main / dependent applicant? :)

We been granted ILR today at Croydon. Everything got over in 1hr 45mnts.

We went in at 8:30 and out by 10.15.

It was a straight forward application.

Process:

1) Security check
2) Few checks at Reception and token given
3) Wait for case worker to call us for case registration
4) Biometric taken
5) Called again after almost an hour to collect the documents with ILR grant letter

Can you tell if you actually submitted these?

How many absences did you have?
Extra letters for main applicant (don't intend to submit unless asked for)

Hi Zalexseo,

Thankyou.

I did carry them but didn't submit them and wasn't asked for as well.

I had less than 100 days absence outside the UK in 5 years.

Hi shiv

Congratulations on ilr. I have a appointment next week and have the below queries
1 As the payment is made in advance what do u fill on the set o form. Are we meant to leave this section blank?

2. What did u state reason for absences as? All my holidays are for family visit and within180 days each year

3. Do you include all absence from the date you entered the country or from 5 years backwards from the day of application. Also did you submit a separate spreadsheet or just use the space on the form?

4. Ties with other countries. How did complete this section. For e.g. india -country of birth?

Thanks

Hi DNEOLA,

Thank you.

All the very best to your application.

1) I left the payment related part of that sheet empty.

2) I mentioned them as Annual Holiday - Family visit and Business Trip

3. Yes I did. I didn't need an extra sheet since I had pretty less absences (less than 100 days) outside the UK in last 5 years.

4. I mentioned - Family Ties

Shiv

Shiv

With regards to query 3...from when did you list the absences. .from the date you entered or counting 5 years backwards?

Thanks

Hi DNEOLA,

I have been in the UK only for 5 years now. So its bit irrelevant to me whether I do it from beginning or 5 years backwards.

However it should be done 5 years counting backwards from the date of application.

Hi Shiv

If i calculate 5 years backwards e.g. 24/12/13...I wouldnt have been in the country then as I am using the 90 day concession rule. I entered the country on 29th January 2009 and first entry clerance is on 13 January 2009

What would you do in this instance??

Hi Shiv,

Can you please let us know what you put for the question?
7.11. How long have you lived in the UK?

did you count the years and days from your date of entry (30/01/2009) to date of applicaiton (13/12/2013)?

Thanks in advance

Hi DNEOLA,

5 years continuous period starts from the first entry clearance stamp date if you first entered the UK within 90 days of first entry clearance stamp date. If you entered after 90 days of first entry clearance stamp date then the calculation starts from the first entry date to the UK.

Ex:
My first visa stamp date was from 20/12/2008 and first entered the UK on 30/01/2009 (well within 90 days) So my 5 years period starts from 20/12/2008.

Hi Mb2014,

I entered 4 years and 11 months.

I calculated 5 years period from 20/12/2008 to application date (13/12/2013) as I entered the UK within 90 days from first entry clearance stamp date.

Congrats!

Did you use the latest version of the form (12/2013) released on or around 1st December, or did you use the previous version (10/2013)?

Hi All,

I was suppose to receive the BRP Cards yesterday but the DX secure personnel never turned up though their system says they attempted delivery.

I have got that rescheduled to Friday.

Shiv

should I need to provide letters from employers regarding my annual leave? I have been in India on annual leave 3 times in last 5 years.

2012 - 15 days
2011 - 10 days
2010 - 30 days

I have changed jobs and it would be difficult to obtain any. :(

Hi Wannafly

11 A What proof can be given for cohabitation. how many are required

There are numerous documents one can provide to prove cohabitation.

1) Utility bills
2) Council Tax
3) GP Letters
4) Letters from UKBA
5) Bank statements
6) Electorate Letters

For 11L - I didn't submit any extra documents apart from what I have listed in my post.

Moderators/ seniors can shed some light here.

With regards to Absence:

For Tier 1 General applicant in particular, UKBA is not very strict about absence letter if you don't cross 180 days in a given year.
Again moderators/ seniors can shed some light here.

In my case, it was less than 100 days in 5 years and I didn't submit any letter. And they didn't ask for it as well.

However, if you can, get them and carry with you just in case.
