I applied for my PIO on 29th Nov and was given 19th Dec as a date to collect my PIO card. However, I had given a self addressed envelope in order to receive the PIO by post. Based on the timeline documented in this forum I was expecting the post to reach on 21st Dec. However, the royal mail update has not shown any details yet. I am going to India on 26th Dec and literally I have 23rd and 24th to wait to see whether I will get the PIO. I do not have time to apply for visa because of the christmas holidays. Any thoughts on what is the best way forward???

Has it taken anyone this much time to get by post? I would appreciate some response from people who had received PIO by post with some time frame.

PIO Application timeline

You need application in duplicate if applied from Edinburgh

Apply for PIO in person in Edinburgh: 25 Nov 13 (I was said it will take three months to get PIO card)
Queries raised by consular: 28 Nov 13
Queries resolved: 3rd Dec 13
PIO Card printed: 31 Dec 13
PIO Card posted: 08 Jan 14
PIO Card received: 09 Jan 14
