Most of the more 'recent' approvals from the past few days have been those received by the Home Office around October 22-23. Fee deductions currently being taken from Oct 25 applicants. Everything is very condensced around that week due to the sheer weight of applications and, allowing for holiday period slowdown, will probably stay that way until at least the 1st week of January. November applicants seem to be looking at mid-January onwards.

Just to update on that. I believe the money has been deducted from my account today. No confirmation yet but it seems as if they have started to look into the pile for applications they received on 25th.

Fingers crossed!!
A further update on the above, I have now received the acknowledgement letter from Home Office confirming fees deductions and the supporting documents they have received. There is no mention of the passports I have sent to them though.

Hi All,

Approval letter received today 24/12/2013, I applied for the return of my passports, on the 17/12, approval letter dated 20/12. I am pleased I request the return of my docs as
I am almost certain it prompts the caseworker to process my application. I applied 15/10.

Thanks to all of you, your input is greatly appreciated

Thanks UKBA

Jotter or Dr. please add me to the list of approvals, thanks much

There is absolutely no rules or process what so ever for dealing with naturalisation application. HO does whatever they feel like

I know because she did not receive her approval at the same time as others of the same timeline. There was no other reason for the delay, besides she was asked to acknowledge that the return of the documents could result in a delay.

How long to wait for the passport after the Ceremony?

I strongly believe that requesting documents back, prompt caseworkers to process ones application, my observation. I maybe wrong, but other forumers had requested docs and receive approval as well, including me. Good luck all

Like some one said earlier, there is no structure as to how Home office processes the application and I believe her delay had nothing to do with the request of the documents to be returned. The reason why I am making this assertion is because I requested for my documents to be returned and there is NO WHERE in the accompanying letter where I was asked to acknowledge that the return of the documents could cause a delay. Rather the letter states that 'Applications are considered broadly in order of receipt and dealt with as quickly as possible. Contact us only if necessary, as dealing with inquiries delays work on applications'.

If she received a letter saying that a request for return of document could result in delay, then probably she had a unique issue with her application.

I am not trying to challenge your views , i just want us to put the facts out there, for other users in the forum to make informed decisions. Speculations could have the adverse effect. :-)

Thank you so much 'jotter' for all your hard work and helpful information about timelines, I'm impatiently waiting for my fees to be deducted (applied 18th Nov) and reading your posts on this forum helps me to understand what's happening and to try and be patient with the process. Thanks again!

A pleasure missnorush! I applied only 3 days before you did, so let's see. For my own application I'm retaining hope of getting a decision before the end of January. That's probably a best case scenario for a mid-November app right now.

Latest October fee deductions table

Post by jotter » Mon Dec 30, 2013 3:18 pm

Latest October fees table taken from posts to this forum:

The percentage value represents the number of people who've informed us they've had their fees deducted as a proportion of the total number of people who've informed us of their applications. The percent includes people who've since also had their case decided.

Note that the date or date range refers to when we believe that the HO received the application, not the date it was sent.

Week ending Oct 5th = 100%
Week ending Oct 12th = 100%
Week ending Oct 19th = 96%
Oct 21st = 90%
Oct 22nd = 88%
Oct 23rd = 92%
Oct 24th = 88%
Oct 25th = 48%
Oct 26th = 0%
Week ending Oct 26th = 77%
Oct 28th = 0%
Oct 29th = 25%
Oct 30th-Nov 2nd = 0%
Week ending Nov 2nd = 7%

Being maintained here.

I agree with you, nowadays a 2-month waiting time is pretty much normal for everyone. There are slight variations on processing times which I believe is due to the pace of the case-worker and the way applications are sorted & distributed (randomly). I wouldn't mislead people to recall their documents.

Anyway don't take me wrong, I have just expressed my thoughts.
