I have some question.
Do you think all GP willing to Countersignature my passport application???
Can I call to my Medical Centre to ask if they do this service?(of course I will pay the fees.)
Thank you.
Unlike the Nationality team in the HO, the Passport Office doesn't accept GP as countersignatory if they have only known you as a patient.

Hello Everyone, I posted this in the wrong forum before, I think.

Hope you all had a good xmas :)

I'm back, I'm going to apply for my passport now; so if I understood well: after submission, you get a text acknowledging receipt of your application (which takes about 5 days), then your foreign passport + certificate of citizenship back (which takes around 14 days), then the interview letter, which takes 2 or 3 weeks, then you phone and get an appointment within 2 weeks and then the passport about a week after the interview, right?

And you get your documents and passport by registered letter if you pay the extra 3 quid?

Cheers

D

Sounds about right, but usually around half the time at the moment. Yes the extra £3 will return documents secure delivery.

Thanks Amber,

Hopefully, they won't lose my documents or get my post code wrong as some other applicants state above.

I'll try to submit it on Friday or Saturday; good news if it's taken less time now :)

Hi Tronca

how long are you on holidays for? I'm not sure how long you have to call for the interview after the letter arrives; if I were you, I'd apply for the passport, after the holidays, that's what I'm doing.

But let's see what other people say.

Regards

Hello,

I am applying for the first child British passport of my son and I have a question regarding the section 10 of the application form.
Could you please advise who can sign/confirm the photograph?
Thank you.

I think 1 month is enough, but if you want to be sure you can just wait until you are back from your holidays; that's what I did; just wait until you are back from your February holidays and then apply for the passport.

Hi Guys

I submitted my application via the check and send service yesterday, so I take it it will arrive on Monday; I have a little concern; my post code contains a G which looks very similar to a 6 in the squares, because they are very small and have no space to write the G properly; does anyone know what happens if the post code is not clear, because one of the characters that is a G looks like it could be a 6?

I have enclosed an extra piece of paper where I have re-written my full address and the post code is clear there and also the a letter where my address is typed so it's very clear there; does anyone have any experience with the HMPO not being sure about a character in the post code and what they do in those cases?

Regards

D

My humble advice, take a chill pill mate. Don't worry about G and 6. It will not be the end of world. :D

I know it's not the end of the world haha

I was just wondering if that could be a problem, because it's read by a computer or it will be ok, because I wrote it clearly on a separate paper; I was wondering if anyone has had a similar case...

There was someone I know with the same problem.
There was a knock on his door at midnight. There was police swat team. He was handcuffed and taken to police station. He was later charged with providing false information on the passport. He was sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole after 20 years.

One question.
If there is some designated time for the submission of the passport after a ceremony?
Thank you

You can apply same day or after one week or after one month.
You can even apply after 1 year or after 10, 20, 30, 40 or 100 years.

Millions of British Citizens have never held and will never hold a passport.

A passport is just an option, Troca; you don't need it, so you can apply whenever you like.

Passport Interview:

They explained the purpose was to verify my identity and stop identity fraud.

Full name
Spelling of name
DOB
Describe where you live - is it a flat/house etc
Describe what your home is like, does it have a garden etc?
Previous address
Occupation, worked there how long
Where do your immediate family members live (parents, siblings). How many siblings do you have?
Name of referee, their occupation, age
Bank accounts held
How I got to the interview (transport used)
How I made the passport application and documentation supplied
(other questions but I don't remember them all - all basic questions about myself, nothing that worried or stumped me!)

At end I signed on the electronic pad. All going well I was told I should have my passport in about 10 working days max and if not to call the helpline.

All in all took about 15 minutes maximum. Staff were very nice and friendly even though the office was very busy!

I got there early and would very strongly recommend making sure you are there at least half an hour before your appointment time if attending the London office at Victoria as you have to go through scanners and the queue can be quite long - the staff on the door (before you get to the main queue and scanners) will tell you if you need to go wait somewhere else before your appointment (coffee shop nearby etc) or else if you can be seen early. Remember to take your letter with your appointment time and reference on it as they'll ask to see it!

Passport Appln referee

Post by Eliasthom » Sun Jan 12, 2014 10:50 pm

Sorry if it was already discussed somewhere else.
is it possible to use the same referee for Passport application and Naturalisation. for Naturalisation I had a family friend with BC and passport ( also an accepted professional) signing as a second referee. I was hoping ask if he could also sign my passport application. Pls comment.
thanks in advance.
