No brother Ahmed, as long as she comes to the UK before the valid until date shown on the visa stamp. Do bear in mind the EC visa time limit as I believe it's for 27 months.

Hi guys,

Anybody know how long the BHC usually take to reply to e-mails regarding updates if your application's taken longer than the stated time?

I e-mailed them last week to remind them that it's been almost 26 weeks since my wife applied for her visa from Lahore but I still haven't heard back from them.

I thought I'd at least get a standard response back but, so far, nothing at all.

Visa applied: 19/07/2013
Status: Under process since 01/08/2013
RFC: Hopefully soon.....

I JUST WANT TO GET SOME ADVICE.
MY WIFE GOT HER VISA THIS MORNING 13/01/14 BUT IM THINKING OF CALLING HER OVER HERE IN FEBURARY 23RD AFTER 6 WEEKS CAUSE THIS IS THE TIME MY SISTER WILL BE COMING FROM HER VISIT TO PAKISTAN. CAN ANYONE TELL ME AFTER RECEIVING A VISA IS THERE A TIME LIMIT TO WHEN U SHOULD TRAVEL TO UK. WOULD THEY MIND IF MY WIFE COME OVER HERE 6 WEEKS AFTER HER VISA WAS GRANTED.
PLEASE IF ANY ONE HAS ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS MATTER IT WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Ahmed post visa travelling time is 3 months ..she needs to travel with in 3 months after she has the visa , otherwise she has to apply for extension. ..so 6 weeks are pretty much okay ..no problems with that ..

I emailed BHC this the response i got:

Our global customer service standard for settlement applications (to live in the UK permanently) is to make decisions on most applications within 12 weeks and all applications within 24 weeks.

Please note that due to a significant increase in the number of applications being received we are currently experiencing a delay in making decisions on settlement applications.  We are still making decisions on most applications within 12 weeks, but many applications are taking longer to resolve, which means that it may take up to 24 weeks for a decision to be made.  We are working hard to minimise the impact on customers.

General information about entry requirements for everyone travelling to the United Kingdom can be found at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas

Thank you.

By the way, does anybody happen to know if our emails actually ever reach the Entry Clearance Officer who's in charge of our respective applications? Everybody always seems to receive standard computer-generated responses via email unless they've been contacted about a specific issue.

Is there even any point e-mailing them more than once before you decide to escalate things? Any advice would be much appreciated

RFC: Never-ending wait to hear :-(

On the visa4uk site, My wife the applicant applied under settlement>settlement>Wife.

Under Part 3>Family Details
Spouse/Partner

Questions 42-46, we read these as questions about the Applicant, so we filled them in with my wife's (the applicants) details. Were the questions directed at the Partner i.e me the husband?

how can i correct these? Is it better to get refund and resubmit?

Damn i feel stupid!
