Date of debit or clearance of fees: Account dropped 09/01/2014. Confirmed with bank it was £874 for application

Are you Fackiiiiiing serious. What's taking them so long. Have you phoned and emailed them?
I contacted them so many times personally and through MP as well. Everytime I get a usual answer that application is still under process and there is no maximum time limit to make the decision.

Hurray!! I thank God at last I received my approval in the post today. After exactly 6 months!!

My timelines are:
Eligibility: 5 years HSMP, 1 year and 8 months ILR
Application date: 13 July 2013
Application received by UKBA: 15 July 2013
Acknowledgement and debit fees: 17 July 2013
Approval: received 16 January 2014, dated 8 January 2014
Ceremony: will contact local authority for date

My bank told me that a payment of £874 is approved on 20-01-2014. Home office has not yet claimed it. My available balance dropped by £874

I suppose your case provides some reassurance that i should not be worried since i applied on 29/11/13 and was received on 02/12/13, heard nothing till date and the account unusually healthy!
