Just fyi:
Fred2141 wrote:To all those who applied in December, you should be expecting to have your fees taken from your account any time from now. How do I know? Today, I tried to log into my Barclays online account with the intention to transfer money to someone. After several failed attempts, I decided to phone my bank, and it did happen that they had frozen my card and could not use it. I asked why, and was told that there was an unusual attempt to make a huge payment of £874 to NCS on Friday, and that payment did not go through. I have never been so annoyed in my life. Anyway, to cut the long story short, I made my application on the 17th December 2013, and was not expecting money to be taken from my account until February. Will call and make payment via phone tomorrow. It looks like things are moving:)

Hi Fred2141 and TTOE,

Thanks for posting this, I have applied on 17th December too (application reached UKBA), and I paid through my Lloyds bank debit card.

Just to be sure I called them today, and informed them of an upcoming transaction of £1550, however they refused to make any note, saying theres just no way in the "system". Instead they say in the new system (at least in Lloyds), if such a thing happens, you get a call in real time, where you can unblock a transaction if you are expecting it. How much of this is true, and how much of it is a figment of his over-active imagination, I guess I might find out soon.

Any other Lloyds bank customers, who have used their debit card for this, have any experience to share, good or bad?

Regards

Not sure about the real time call to verify the authenticity of a payment considering the numbers of payment file flying around the UK banking - cards scheme infrastructure, anyway.......Lets hope the payment goes through in real time though :D

Hi TTOE,

Yeah, exactly my thoughts. But you know its kind of un-british to call a spade a spade. Back where I come from, I would have told him exactly what I think about his claim :D.

Good luck to you for next week too, I hope all december payments go through in the next couple of weeks.
