Eligibility criteria: 5 Year ILR + 1 Year
Language criteria met (UK degree, exempt countries, PBS used documents, NARIC, or B1 test): PBS
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Redbridge
Date of application: 16/12/2013
Payment method CC/DC, Personal cheque, Bankers cheque etc: CC
Date of receipt by UKBA: 19/12/2013
Date of acknowledgement: 24/01/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 22/01/2014
Date approval received: 17/02/2014 (dated 12/02/2014)
Date of ceremony: waiting

The home office phone number customer service is complete bollocks. I had called on 13th Feb and they said that my application was in the process of being looked at. They had already dispatched the approval letter on 12th !! For the amount of money being charged for this process, it really needs to be more efficient and accountable.

Dear all,

Thanks everyone for your contributions and support. Finally received the approval today.

I would like to give some further information about my application. I did not send any originals or did I use NCS, instead I only sent certified photocopies and made a self application. It only cost me 50£ to get it certified by a solicitor although others may charge a lot more. It did save me a lot of time though as I was not able to get any NCS appointments to my preference nor did I have to take any time off work. Having previously made various successful UKBA applications I trusted myself to get this one right too and indeed I have.

All the best to those waiting.

Regards,
. can you certife documents by post office just cost £8

Hi All,

My timelines so far:

Eligibility criteria: 5 Years +1 year ILR
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Hammersmith
Date of application: 07/02/2014
Payment method CC/DC: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 10/02/2014
Date of acknowledgement: 17/02/14 (Letter dated 13/02/14)
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 14/02/2014
Date approval received: waiting
Date of ceremony: waiting

Things seem to be going much quicker compared to the ILR process. The checking service is amazing and they should introduce for ILR.

I called the ukba today just to see if I am on the system and I was told my application is in the system but it has not been assigned to caseworker/team. I didn't expect to hear much because my application was received on the 8th of ban so all the people that applied in Jan hang on soon it will be us and I hope it will be a good result without any delays.

Hi alnuaimiuk,
Be patient my friend. That's the only way forward unfortunately. I agree it can be very frustrating to see approval for new applicant and we're still struggling to heard anything for Nov and Oct applicant.
You aren't alone if that can comfort you.
I hope to heard soon good news for all of us.

Not sure why the edit functionality has been blocked on the forum. Anyway just wanted to say that the ceremony has been booked for 21/02/2014. Best of luck to everybody else. Hope your applications are approved soon as well :)

I really think it depends on who you get through to. I guess they have a system which is a bit complex for some of the guys on the call.

What do you say to this, somebody's experience this; called in the morning she was told approval letter sent out already and later realised she did not ask what date the letter got sent out, then called again and was told application is incomplete.

How about that?

Timeline
Eligibility criteria: UKM
Method of application: NCS Sheffield
Date of application: 19/11'/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 20/11/2013
Date of debit of fees: 17/01/2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 14/01/14
Date of receipt of approval: TBD
Date of Ceremony: TBD

I contacted UKBA via email on 12/02/14 to check on progress. They confirmed a decision had been made on 14/02/14 but the notification had not been sent. They said the confirmation would be sent from the British High Commission here in Ottawa.
Guessing the result is positive I'm assuming this will also be for the ceremony too.
