Tier 1 to ILR - Success (Croydon)

Post by Jedi001 » Mon Feb 17, 2014 5:49 pm

Hello Everyone,

My Visa Details:

Applied On: 19th Jan 2009 (initial Tier1 from india)
Tier 1 Visa Granted!-5th Feb 09(Validity: 01/03/2009 - 01/03/2012)
14th March 09-Landed in UK
28th Feb 2012 - Tier 1 Visa Extension Granted (Validity: 01/03/2012 - 01/03/2014)
17th Feb 2014 - ILR Approved

Firstly many thanks to all the members for sharing their experiences and also clearing my doubts regarding my ILR application. Special thanks to Manka

I applied as a company director (own - limited company)

Appointment was at 9:15 am today, reached at 8:45 (they allowed us in straight away) and went through the security checks, got the token number and then went to the 3rd floor as directed by the staff.

After some wait we were called to one of the counters where our application was registered (the guy checked all our application forms + photos + payment receipts etc) and then told us that we will be called for Biometric now.

Waited for another 1 hour and then we went through the Biometric process. The person who took the Biometric told us that he will handover the documents to the case worker and if they need any info on any documents then they will call me, otherwise they will announce our token number to collect the documents with the decision.

Now the wait started, after 1 hour our token number was called, there was lady who was distributing the documents+decisions to everyone (dont think she was the caseworker). She confirmed that our ILR application has been approved and we were will get our BRP cards in next 7 days or so.

This was an experience without any hassle at all. So all in all we spent 3 hours over there. Also never met the caseworker which was a bit strange though who cares till they are doing there job well.

Hi Jeddi,

First of all Congratulations on your achievement.

I am happy to see the part where you explained English language requirements. I also did my Engineering from Pakistan and degree was taught in English. University also provided letter to confirm it. Same goes for my wife.

But what is this hype that we have to appear in IELTS or B1 even if you satisfy this condition previously during Tier-1 extensions. ( bear in mind I never appeared in IELTS as it was never required).

whats your stance on this?

Thanks in Advance.

If PBS calc recognizes your's and your wife's university and awards points for English section then I believe we don't need to provide any other qualification.

In my case me and my wife studied from same university and got the letter (medium of instruction) from them as well. Hence I did not provide any docs apart from what I have listed.

Jedi,

Nobody talks about Paysheet that is provided when you make an appointment online. Did you pay the whole fee upfront for your PEO appointment?

My appointment is on 7thMarch and I have paid (£2589 for main + 1 dependent) already in full. I hope I have paid the right fee :d

Yes you have paid the correct fees.

Secondly when you go to collect your token, they will ask about the payment sheet (+ passport and form) before they give you the token number. So I attached (don't staple it) the Payment sheet to the Payment section with details of my Debit card mentioned on the Payment section of Set (o), also I mentioned actual the date of the payment rather than application date in the form.

Also to confirm one more thing that I left the Question 6.3 blank and provided a self attested letter for all my absences.

Thank you

No I was not Company director for my initial Tier 1 G.

For the Tier1 G extension I was a company director however I was only taking salary and no dividends, so I provided the docs listed here: http://www.immigrationboards.com/uk-tie ... ml#p600110

For ILR:

I only showed by HMRC letter for NI Contributions for the last 4 years.

Hello,

Congratulation on getting ILR. I am in process of applying the same under Tier-2 (ICT) can you please assist me with the following questions.

1) I am currently under Tier-2 (ICT) Migrant category.
While booking appointment online for ILR what category should be selected “Applying for”
a) Tier 1 (General)
b) Tier 2
c) Other Main Applicant
d) Dependent

2) If I pay online while booking for appointment what should I mention under "PAYMENT DETAILS:SET(O)" in the SET (O) form? Because it asks to pay at the same time when we book the appointment.

3) Documents you provided for cohabitation, did those documents include your spouse name as well? Amongst those documents in what all documents your spouse name was present.

Thanks,
Suchi

Not sure, if people who have applied via Tier 2 route can answer this would be great or you can post it in the Tier 2 section of this forum, but best guess would be that it has to be Tier 2 option which you will be selecting

2) If I pay online while booking for appointment what should I mention under "PAYMENT DETAILS:SET(O)" in the SET (O) form? Because it asks to pay at the same time when we book the appointment.

I have answered this in my above post, here is what you need to do:

when you go to collect your token, they will ask about the payment sheet (+ passport and form) before they give you the token number. Hello Jedi001,

Do you have the template you use to explain your absence from UK? Is it possible if you can post a copy of it?

Many Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your detailed information. I have some questions about my ILR which is due in October this year. I am on tier 1 general visa which was granted on 8-10-2009 for three years and I have got extention till end of this year. Can I book an appointment with PEO now or shall I wait for few more months ? And if I qualify for booking an appointment which number to call?
Regards

You need to check whether you qualify for ILR before you can book an appointment.

And if I qualify for booking an appointment which number to call?

If you have got an extension then you would have used the UKBA website to get an appointment, here are the links anyways:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/abou ... pointment/

Hi Jedi001, congratulations mate for the ILR. I just need your advice on the original letter you provided from the University confirming that the degree was taught in Engligh, could you share the format and matter of the letter with me please. You can email same on my id kayess1988 @ gmail com. I would be grateful for your help.

Also tell me, if the university name is mentioned on the UKBA online test where you add your univesity to score the points, do you still need to provide the letter to UKBA?

Please send the format or share the letter here so that everybody can refer to it. Thanks mate and congratulations again.
