Pregnant Spouse Visa Issues

Post by bill7859 » Thu Jan 30, 2025 10:57 am

Hi,

I am a medicine student studying in Ireland and my wife has been on a 2 year working holiday visa which is set to expire in a couple months. She is also pregnant and about to enter her third trimester - due in April prior to my graduation date in June. Looking for advice on if we should look into trying to obtain an exception for her to stay longer so we won't have to be separate for the 3rd trimester? Her maternity appointments are all free so what would happen if she were to consider staying here until the baby is born then returning home to Canada? I can't take time away from school to return to Canada with her and would hate to not be there for her during her 3rd trimester / the birth of our baby.

Appreciate any advice!
