Premium Same Day?

Post by silverchloride » Tue Aug 16, 2011 9:26 am

Hi folks,

I was wanting to get some insights into the premium service that UKBA offers. Is it any good and worth the extra money? Also, are cases decided on the same day? What would you advice?

Cases are meant to be decided on the same day, hence the premium service. But it is recommended that you use this serive when you are 100% sure of how fool proof your application is and that a caseworker can only see it as a simple, non complicated application.

The case worker can and is well within their rights to ask for clarification about something, which if you are not able to provide on the same day, then the decision can be delayed, effectively making your premium application useless. That is, you will pay the infalted fees but the service you will get is that of postal application.

Hope this explains.

Now I know everyone thinks their application is straight forward. But in my case:

60 point are being claimed through the CoS
only 10 points are for the English language which is the degree+academic reference letter, etc.

I'm not sure what else they'd want to know. Can you advice if I should perhaps go through this route or not?

As far as I know a total of 50 points are needed.
You are getting 60 points for the CoS. i am a bit confused with this.are you calculating using a similar table like this :
http://www.shef.ac.uk/content/1/c6/12/0 ... 0Table.pdf

If you are, then is your Cos restricted one? Why is it so? Are you not applying from within UK?
What Visa were you on before?

I'm applying within the UK, switching from Tier 4.

Achieved through Cos:
=================
30 points > RLMT
20 points > Salary
10 points > Maintainance
=================

I'd have to proove:
10 points > English Language

yes, 70 including Maintenance and Eng Language... you are right!
If you think that you tick all the boxes properly, then maybe a premiums service would be good for you.

The degree and academic letter are good enough proof for English Language requirements.

complications arise when they run a background check on you and something comes up that shouldnt.

e.g earning 15k per annum while you were a student. that would need some explaining to do!... things like that creates doubt in caseworker's mind so then he/she has to go n request your records from hmrc or whoever to clarify...

Glasgow and Sheffield are fully booked till the 28th of September. Is there a problem with their online system or its normal?

Also, the start date on my CoS is 1st of September, would it cause a problem for my visa? Since I dont think I'd be able to get a decision before that date.

Please advice.
