No idea,
I sent a binder with the application at the front and all supporting material separated by title pages, at the begining of each section i added an explanation of my claim....HSMP for dummies...
I'm not aware of any specific standard, maybe someone else has more info.

I did something similair. I had a cover letter + a binder that included the HSMP application and all documentation. When I got my documentation back by mail it did not contain the binder. My binder is still with them

I accept it is going to take a long time but I would still say a proper and a clear presentation will make the life of your case worker easier and will make it that much easier to get an approval. Therefore it is going to delay you by a day or two I think its worth it.

f2k,
I saw a posting today of somenone mentioning that the HSMP team was changing location, then, it could be happening that the fast tracked applications from sept and july that we saw last week were in fact the new trainees learning how to do things and now with the new location they will have more space for an appropriate number of case workers....not all is lost...yet....

i didn't use a binder, but did separate the supporting documents by part and section. then i had a listing of all the contents overall and one for each section (which were paperclipped together). when i got my documents backed, they were all mixed up.

i think as long as it's organised (papers are sectioned and easy to find), that would be ok.

good luck :).

i used one folder which had plastic sleeve dividers so for each point where i was claiming points, i would use one sleeve on the sleeve also i used those stick on papers and wrote on it which section it was for and what documents where contained in it. so even if i was using bank statements as proof of address and also as proof income, i would have a copy of the statement in both sections. just try to put every thing in order and neatly. so when he/she is looking at section for education they would only have to pull out the one section and all the documents for that section would be in there.

well lets hope they do increase their pace once they move in and hopefully the process of moving in wont actually cause further delays. i always wondered as well, why dont they 'borrow' staff from the work permits section when their workload allows, i mean they are taking less than a day to approve WP surely they could borrow some guys from there and if the work permit process takes 2 days noone will really notice, i mean compared to the more than 6 months for HSMP

You will not get any ack email or letter from the HSMP team (Applicants after 1st Dec will). You should read the FAQ sticky topic ...........

3. I have recently submitted my HSMP application but have not received any acknowledgement or a reference number. How do I obtain these details?
The HSMP Team do not acknowledge receipt of applications. You should check with your courier regarding delivery or the relevant financial institution for the debit of credit card fees/ encashment of bank drafts. You will be able to obtain a reference number approximatley one week after the fee payment. The fastest/ cheapest way to do this is via e-mail on:

hsmp.workpermits@ind.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

You need to provide:

1. Your full name as per your passport/ birth certificate - it is helpful to underline your family/ last name.

2. Your date of birth - DDMMYYYY.

3. Your gender.

4. Your nationality.

5. Date of delivery at Doncaster including Courier/ Royal Mail reference number.

6. Date of fee payment.
