Previous Earnings

Post by milindsm81 » Sun Nov 22, 2009 4:38 am

Hello,

As per HSMP rules, I need to show my previous income to claim points under 'Previous Earnings' section.

The only worry that I have is, my previous company was shut down due to recession. My last day at that company was 1st June 2009. I was paid for the whole month of June as a part of compensation (I have a Full-N-Final settlement pay slip). I got a new job and I started working again from 16th July 2009. So, this makes a gap of 1.5 months (though I was paid for that period except first 15 days of July).

While reading PBS appendix document, I came across a point where it says, "You can claim points for Previous Earnings for any single, consecutive 12 month period from the 15 months immediately prior to the date of the application." (Page 2, Part 4 in the said document)

Do you think that this might create a problem and would come as a hurdle in my application process??

Cheers,
Milind[/u]

SHouldn't be a problem since you were paid for the period you have gap. Just show the proof of salary(incuding final settlement letter). In your cover letter, mention about the company shutdown too just in case.

I believe it's not a problem at all. "Consecutive 12 months" means your claim period has to be consecutive. It does not mean you have to be employed in these 12 months. So it's perfectly OK if you were not earning anything sometime in this period.
