Private life route after 20 years illegal in UK

Hi,
We applied for private life route after being in UK for 20 years. Documented proof from each year was submitted. All the fees were paid, (no fee waivers).
Biometric was done mid December 2023.
Haven't heard anything from HO since than.

Does anyone have any experience of roughly time scale and anyone else going through same application.?
Your feedback, shared experiences would really help us go through this waiting time.

But I was looking if someone had a relevant experience. Has someone received it before 12 months or has it taken longer than 12 for someone.

My relative is gonna apply, and what we heard from a couple solicitors was: up to one year is very possible, especially there's a huge backlog at the moment.

Also, we were told it all depends on the materials you present. One solicitor said she had a case that the applicant got the visa as quick as 7 days, but that was because the applicant had gathered the supportive materials very thoroughly, and he or she didn't use the evidences that were harder to be proven, such as eye witness or friend's statements etc. Also, that was years ago when immigration issue wasn't crazy as today!

You are right. It all depends on the evidence provided, however getting results in days and weeks are long gone, due to govt long back log. Gov website states 12 months for these cases ATM.


It's been 8.5 months so far for our application, all the evidence was well presented with documented proofs ( rather than friends letter and eye witnesses), we haven't heard anything at all since our application yet ( positive is that they don't need any further clarification regarding any docs or else they would have contacted by now ) will have to wait full 12 months before raising a concern with them.
Hope our above experience helps your relative pychologically as what to expect.
