PRO RATA in the application Form

Post by virgoguy » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:52 am

Dear Group,

I have a couple of questions with regards to Pro-rata of Earnings

I have worked in 2 countries in the best part of 12 months in the last 15 months. Country A 10 MONTHS + COUNTRY B 2 Months

My assumptions:

I need to give the income period as these 12 months

My Question:

1) Question number 29: Country where income was earned?
---Should this be Country A, and B

2) Question Number 30: Amount Earned: Should I be adding the earnings in Pounds equivalent?

3) Pro-rata of Salary: I guess I have to use this section to highlight this point?

If you were on secondment during the period claimed, please complete the following:
Country where job based:
Country of 1st secondment:
Country of 2nd secondment:

Please can you help me with the correct answers. As always I highly appreciate your help

Regards

Hi,

I shall post below what I had filled in as mine is also exactly the same as yours.

Country A : 10 months
country B: 2 months

I had filled in country A for question 29 and its pro-rated value for 12 months converted into pounds (with the conversion date used as the last day of the date on the payslip for Country A)

In my covering letter, I had mentioned a detailed explanation of the same stating that in Country B my earnings was only for 2 months and hence Country A earnings has been pro-rated to 12 months.
Also attached the currency coversion chart used from oanda.com

I gave supporting documents for both the country earnings.

i have a doubt filling up the previous earning section..

my earning period covers 11 months in A
and 1 month in country B

so ..should i enter "country A" for income earned..?

i have a doubt in converting the value to the pound..
i should take the pound value for the 11th month in "country A" or 12th month pound value of "country A"?

so the band should be band of country A..

In country B: i dont have to pay tax...
so...should i need to check boxes for the questions 33,34,35 37,38??

thanks..

[my earning period covers 11 months in A
and 1 month in country B ]

Pro rata is done on the basis for the country you have spent more time, since in your case Country A has the maximum time frame, you would need to fill in country A as income earned.
i.e in your covering letter mention your 11 months salary in country A,

show the pro-rated value for 12 months.

Use oanda.com to use the currency conversion for that day which is the last day of the payslip in Country A.

[so the band should be band of country A]

Yes
