Problems getting visa after being a long stay visitor?

Post by mia777 » Thu Jul 01, 2010 5:41 pm

Greetings!!

I recently got accepted in graduate school here for medieval history. I am twenty-three and just finished my bachelors degree in the states in December. Since then, I have been in the UK visiting my uncle and other family I have here (the stamp in my passport says I can stay six months).

My graduate school starts September 20. I am leaving the UK on July 16. Am I going to have any problems getting a student visa since I've been here as a tourist for six months? I won't have any issues showing proof of funds or anything.

Also, how long before the start of my program can I come here?

Thanks,

No you won't have problems entering the uk. The earliest you can come is the date that your visa states ( I think it says "valid from").
