Processing moved to Canada ! (Strange)

Post by Bali26 » Tue Jun 20, 2006 10:36 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am being processed under "spouse of live-in caregiver" category in
Delhi for the past 2 and half years. I had a minor summary conviction
in the US (Jaywalking citation) over 8 years ago and was also illegal
alien there. I was re-interviewed because of this. No other criminal
record whatsoever.

I have already been adviced that my marriage is found to be bonafide,
so no problems there.

Few weeks ago, Visa officer asked for more details of my illegal
status in US and where i got a US Drivers licence etc. and adviced me
that i may be inadmissible on criminal grounds because of this. So i
gave them complete details.

Last week I had written a letter to the MP about the extremely long
delay in processing my file over a relatively minor offence so he had
contacted the CIC minister regarding this.

Now I have gotten an email from visa officer saying that my file has
been sent to CIC Canada for decision making and don't contact them for
status but CIC Canada instead.

Is this normal?
Why do you think they have sent it to Canada?
Is it because me and my wife are supposed to get PR at the same time?
(Caregiver)

OR is it about to be denied? :(

What does your experience tell you?

(I hope its not gonna start processing from the start. I haven't seen
my wife for over 2 years)

Thanks a lot for your guidance.

-Bali
