Processing time for Child Depedent Visa outside UK

Post by kumsamkum2 » Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:12 pm

Hi All,

I am currently residing in the UK on a skilled worker visa, and I have recently applied for my infant's dependent visa on 12th September from India. During the application process, the VFS representative informed me that the typical processing time for a child dependent visa is approximately three weeks. However, I have not received any updates or communication regarding the status of my visa application. This has now become a cause for concern, as my family and I have our flight tickets from India to the UK (in November End) already booked since July. I would greatly appreciate any information or insights from individuals who have experience with obtaining a child dependent visa from outside the UK.

Also can I have multiple dependent visa application for the same child? Just in case I don't receive the response on earlier application, at least i can put another application with priority services?

That just means your processing takes longer.

Priority service isn't guaranteed - they may take the fee and not process it in times provided. You'd also have to withdraw your previous application.

Your best option is to wait - you still have two months.

Thank you very much for your response and guidance. It really means a lot...

I don't know from where you are responding, but wish god bless you. I will wait for 1 more month and recheck what I should be doing.

Just a question - If we withdraw, do we get a full refund or nothing ?
