Proof of Residence (Type A) for Year of Application

Hello everyone! I would very much appreciate your advice on the following situation:

• EU-National, first day in Ireland 27th January 2019

• continuously resident since then

Proof of Residence

• Type B: no issues, but how many bills need to be submitted per year? Is one bill enough?

• Type A: EDS for 2019 until 2023 (5x)

But what Type A document can I use for 2024 (January - July)? The only other option would be bank statements because I will only get my EDS for 2024 next year. However: I am mostly using a German debit card for Point of Sale payments in combination with an aggregator card (Curve). This means that all point of sale transactions show as online transactions because they are done with Curve and forwarded to the German debit card in the background. Would these still be counted as POS transactions?
And even if I have enough POS transactions with my German card (directly with my card without Curve), the bank statements are in German. Do I need to have it translated by a certified translation service? Or would it be enough to submit the original in German? Or can I use Google translate to automatically create a translated PDF?

Are there any alternatives to prove the residence for the current year of 2024? I find it very strange that my only option is bank statements (what if I prefer payments in cash)? Do I even need to prove 2024 if I already have 5x proofs for 2019-2023?

I applied in November 2023, and I did not attach any Type A documents for 2023, the most recent was my Employment Detail Summary for 2022.

The documents I attached in my application:
- P60 for 2017, 2018
- Employment Detail Summary for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022
- 3 months of credit card statements covering end of 2017-early 2018 (probably unnecessary)
- Rental agreement for July 2017-2018
- Rental agreement for July 2019-2020
- Letter from landlord’s agent stating I have rented the apartment I currently live in since July 2018 (same as the July 2019-2020 agreement is for)
- Birth certificate and passport

My application was approved without any further documentation requested, I attended a ceremony earlier this year.

I took it to mean complete year periods, i.e. you should submit proofs for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. If they really need something for 2024 they'll contact you.

I believe it's just one bill.

@Tuengeek: ok, but that was probably possible as you had already started your residence period in 2017, so 2023 was not necessary as you had already amounted the 5 years earlier.

@seanocathasaigh80: But as 2019 was not a complete year for me (I started my job in February), I would need some months in 2024 to complete the 5 year period, wouldn’t I?

And has anyone ever handed in bank statements that were not in English?
