Proposed Civil Partner Granted - Next Steps

Hi there, I've scoured the boards but haven't found what im looking for so posting here, please link me to a post if one already exists with this answer...

I recently got my proposed civil partner visa granted to join my partner in the UK and form a civil partnership (the £1,195 visa from this page https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/overview) from Australia. That process to get the visa in it's self was a nightmare but glad i've gotten through that.

My question is, now that i've arrived and forming the civil partnership next month, how do I go about the next step - which is to convert my visa so I can also work here and the costs associated with it.. I can't seem to find any information on the uk visa website at all which is annoying or any information just links to other visas in a web of pages. Some general guidance on the next step would be greatly appreciated

If you are anxious to start work, it would be wise to pay the premium fee of £1311 and submit your application in person at a PSC where applications are generally processed on the same day.

A postal application with the lesser fee of £811 may take up to 3 months to process and you will be unable to work until the FLR(M) visa has been granted.

Regardless of how you submit your application you will have to pay the £500 NHS surcharge in addition to the visa fee, as Australian nationals are no longer exempt.
