Prosecutions for faking document

Well, I messed up and I admit it, and I regret it every day, I was on my last English course, but I couldn't save much money here, my country has horrible life conditions, very high unemployment, if you have something to eat by the end of the day you have to be happy, and for the first time in my life I was happy to live in a country like Ireland.
My course was ending and with no money I found out from a "friend" that you could pay for college but much less than the "usual", the documents were issued by the college and you would even have health insurance, but I didn't need to attend, I wanted to stay for 1 year working here to save money to start a real college, in desperation I signed with this guy, he even called me and reassured me saying that everything was within the law, I paid it, the documents were sent, I applied on the website, 1 month later, "application denied, college cannot confirm your registration, the case was passed on to the gardai", then despair set in and I saw the mess I made , I contacted the guy, he said he spoke to the college and it was their mistake, I was supposed to reapply, I reapplied and again 1 month of waiting, it was denied for the same reason, after that it went down the river, he told me to reapply , I said I wouldn't do it again, that I regretted it, he promised that everything was within the law, I asked for the money back and he didn't answer me anymore, well... I was stupid and I deserved what I got, now I talked to my friends parents and asked them for money and I got the money for a real college, but now I'm really scared of the garda coming after me or that when I go to make the real application I'll be denied because this shit I did, I never got involved in this kind of thing, but this time desperation hit, what problems could I have in relation to this, what if nothing happens but they come after me years later? I heard that if there is a problem it will be reported to the guy who issues it to me but I'm still worried, I want to go to the police and explain myself but I am too scared to do so.
