PSW dependant - maternity pay

Hi,

I'm on a PSW dependant visa which expires in Dec 2011. I have been working in the UK for over 17 months and am eligible for maternity benefits/SMP from my company. Early next year, I was hoping to visit my country with my new born baby for about 6 months. I wanted to understand if I will still be eligible for the maternity pay/SMP till the end of my visa i.e. Dec 2011 or will I be entitled to it only if I'm physically in UK?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
