PSW to Tier-1 General- qualifications requirements

Dear All,

I was one of the first people to apply for PSW in July 2008, and the rules back then were quite clear: visa granted for 2years only, and possibility to switch to Tier-1 General based on Bachelors degree, earnings etc etc.

Now they've changed this by introducing Masters as minimum requirement to change into Tier-1 General.

I have a bachelors degree, been holding a good job since then and now I'm stuck (work does not do sponsorships so not Tier-2 possibilty).

Is anyone else affected by these changes.
Why did they not bring transition arragements for those who applied whilst prior to changes coming into place.

Does anyone think we could try and do a petition of some sort to highlight this issue?? what have we to loose

Hi Mate,

i am in a same situation, i got PGDBM and now on PSW Visa,
I am stuck here dont know what to do for applying Tier 1.
My university has advised me to do Dissertation from any other univ. so that i can achieved Master's degree and than i can apply for Visa. But this process will take time and cost me a fortune as well.
Y dont home office do something like a Transtional Arrangements for the people who falls in this category.
Let me know what we can do.
