Psw To Tier 1 general

Hello friends,
I have some query about psw to Tier 1 general.
I did my PG Diploma and on PSW now, it will expire on september.but as Home Office requirements I can’t apply for Tier 1 (General) unless I have got masters degree.
Now i decided i m going to take a admission for masters very soon. but the problem is that it will take 1 year but i haven,t got much time to finish within this time.So i have to switch back to student visa again through this time. My question is now
when i will get my result which is complete my master shell i able switch
Tier 1 general? other requeirments as can i claim for my previous earning?
bcz of that i can,t apply for psw as i already got it?
which option is for me?
Any good advice wiil be highly apprieciated.

if i take admission in this month or february and start classes shell i able to switch tier 1 general before expire my current visa ? or need to switch first as a student visa untill finish? As the course will be 12 month period
so due to my visa expire time i could nearly finish study may be 2 to 4 month will be left.
is it possible to switch from student to Tier 1 general?

You can apply for Tier 1 (General) if and when you are eligible.

Read the Tier 1 (G) policy guidance to understand the requirements. For example - will you score enough points to be eligible for Tier 1 (General) after spending 12 months as a student (no earnings)??

i m confused. if the requirments is previous earning then i m eligible.
but my shortage is only masters thats why i will switch back to student only for few month untill finish my course.
My question is shell i claim for my previous earning? while i m student?
Is it possible to Switch again from student to Tier 1 general?

You can apply for Tier 1 General from student visa but the only problem for you would be earnings.

If you apply within 3 months of getting on student visa you can still claim for 12 months earnings before becoming full time student.

If you apply within 6 months of getting on student visa then you can only claim for 9 months of earnings.

If you apply within 9 months of getting on student visa then you can only claim for 6 months of earnings.

Are you suggesting that you will complete an educational programme within a time frame that is less than the duration of the programme itself (e.g.- complete a 12 month programme in less than 12 months, say 9 months)?? Which course / college / university is this?

Anyhow, I would strongly recommend that you:
1. Make sure that the degree you intend to gain is listed in the PBS calculator.
2. Make sure that you're not in breach of immigration laws by undertaking a full-time study on a Tier 1 (PSW) visa which - as you say - will not last the duration of the educational programme.
3. Make sure beforehand that you are allowed to change from Tier 1 (PSW) to Tier 4 (Student) visa while your course is underway (i.e. - anytime after enrolling / classes begin).
4. Read the Tier 1 (G) policy guidance.

The OP is enrolling in the Masters programme (AFAIK, masters programme are usually 12 month or more) in an effort to score the min. 35 points required for qualifications. Unless the OP completes the programme (passes the exam and, at the least, have provisional pass certificate) how can the OP (qualify and) apply for Tier 1 (General) .... within 3, 6, 9 months of switching onto a Tier 4 (Student) visa, as you seem to suggest??

You are ignoring the fact the Tier 1 (G) applicant can claim points for previous earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period during the 15 months immediately before the date of applying. And for the OP, 12 months of that 15 months period (at least) would have been spent as a student i.e.- without an income or substantially lesser income (if OP decides to work part-time while studying)!!

Assuming that the OP is less than 31 years old, then after attaining his masters qualifications he will be able to score 60 points (Qualification = 35, Age = 20, UK Experience (study) = 5) which leaves a gap of 15 points. In order to score these 15 points, the OP will have to provide evidence of a min. of GBP20,000 worth of earnings in a single, consecutive 12 month period within the 15 month window prior to his application!

Understandably, the OP will only be able to work part-time while he pursues his masters qualifications. At the end of it all, whether or not he will be able to show earnings of 20K quids within a single 12 month period - majority of which he would have spent as a student and constrained to work part-time - depends on his skills, domain knowledge and industry sector he works in ... but is not going to be easy by any standard!!

The above is based on my own understanding of the Tier 1 (G) eligibility requirements and assuming that the OP is applying for a 12 month long masters programme. Please do correct me if I am wrong.

Why don’t you get enrolled in MBA Top Up programme, it helps you to get your MBA degree and just takes maximum of 5-6 months. It’s for those who has got their PGDM and looking to get their masters.
