Queries on PBS Appendix 1 G Migrant self assessment form

Post by hsmp_apr2010 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 6:51 pm

I am a out country applicant applying from India. I have few queries on filling questions 3.2 and 4.6 of PBS Appendix 1 General Migrant self assessment form.

1.
3.2 Indicate your method of postgraduate degree verification Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
I am not sure why HO is asking about method of postgraduate degree verification, when it should only ask for method of degree verification.

My bachelor's degree is equivalent to British Bachelors as per PBS calculator.

In that case should I tick on the answer choice "Qualification on the points based calculator"

But then again I am only graduate and not post graduate.

2.
4.6 Earnings Table - You should complete the following table giving details of previous earnings being claimed. If earnings
originated from more than one source, you should enter each source separately. The electronic Self-Assessment Points
Calculator will explain the purpose of the fields below.
One the fields in the answer asks about Earnings in
pounds sterling

Should the earning be calculated as
a) Earning in pounds sterling = Earning in your currency * uplift ratio * conversion rate

OR
b) Earning in pounds sterling = Earning in your currency * conversion rate.

I am more inclined towards doing calculation using method b. But I am really confused.
Guys please can you share your experience in answering those questions?

1. I noticed that too when applying. Probably a remnant of the pre-April 6 form. Just assume that it is graduate. I did.

2. Method b is what I did. The column name matches what comes in the self assesment pdf.
