query about satisfying tier 2 requirement

Post by arsenal49 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 2:10 pm

Lets say, hypothetically, i want to switch from post-study work category to tier 2 category.

I have a job with a company who is on a register list and will be earning more than 20k.

key word being "will be" meaning i have not earned 20 k yet.

Do i need to look at the shortage occupation list at all or is it all irrelevant to me?

do we (my company and i) need to work on deciding which particular job title i should have and ensure that pay is according to the recommended salary by UKBA?

Do we have free hand in deciding job title and salary as long as its over 20 k?

Can someone clarify it?

regards

PS. i seem to gain enough points according to new rules announced , applicable from 6 april 2010

Relying on Shortage list is a difficult one as you need to prove it without reasonable doubt.
What professional are you on?

thats the point. i dont intend to use shortage occupation list cuz if my employer give me a job as a psw migrant then i score 30 points and ultimately enough points to qualify for tier 2 later on. i am just wondering can i just choose to ignore all that cr*p as all that means nothing to me?

or am i missing something?

i would be an engineering professional if you must know.

Not all engineering fields are in shortage list. for you to use shortage list, will need to prove both ways, (1) Qualification wise (2) Job wise, your employment title and role need to match which those listed.

for PSW, I advice you claim your 30 points and use others to complete it, with this nothing much to prove.
