I hope you can help me with my situation:
I have been a Tier 2 General immigrant, since 2010 working as a postdoctoral research associate and then postdoctoral research fellow at University A. At the end of my contract (due to family and personal reasons) my plans were divided between staying in UK or going back to Austria (where my family was living).
There was a very good opening for a permanent lecturer position at University B in UK and I decided to apply for it. It happened that I was offered the position
. However only 10 days after they offered me the post (which had a starting date just 2 months ahead), my visa was expiring and I went back to Austria to join my family and wait for the bureaucratic steps from there. Now I am in austria (for 7 days) and they are checking my eligibility for the visa. By looking up in the internet I just realised there is a so called "cooling off" period.Would this be applied for my case?
I had an offer for a position that was 1.5 months after my previous sponsorship would expire. I could not stay in the country without a visa. So I left the country to join my family... I hope there is a way for me to take this position
If not that will be so frustrating!
