Query with regards to funds

Post by msbhalla » Fri Dec 10, 2010 11:25 am

Hi everybody,

I'm thinking of applying for UK tier 1 visa for me and my wife.

I checked up the points calculator, and found that I'm clear on all the points except for the maintainance funds.

I have the required money, but the issue is that it is in wife's account. :(

So, my question is, can I show money in my wife's account to apply for visa for both of us?

I thought about making my wife as a principal applicant, but the issue in that case is she doesn't have earnings to show for the past 12 months to garner enough points.

Would request you all knowledgeable folks to help me out in this regard.
1. Can I show money in my wife's account to apply for visa for both of us (with me being the principal applicant)?
2. If not, can I convert my wife's account into a joint account and then apply?

Thanks in advance.

The main applicant has to be named on the account for the maintenance funds of the main applicant. For a dependent the account can be in the name of either the main applicant or the dependent or both.
