Question about Cover letter for PSW visa App?

Post by dannytrinh » Sun Aug 23, 2009 4:20 pm

Can I ask you question regarding Cover letter for PSW Visa App?

I could not find any example to follow.

I have two problems:
1: Name in passport and in UK Uni Confirm letter, Bank statement are in different order
- Last Name then First Name (Passport) Vs First Name Last Name (UK docs)
2. I use both UK bank statement and Overseas bank statement to claim points for Maintenance.

Should I mention each issue in separate cover letter or all in one letter?
Anyone can give some Cover letter sample for PSW Application?

1. No need of a cover letter as if all the documents are there then u shud be fine as caseworker can work out the information by looking at u documents.
2. If u still wish to send a cover letter then there is no format of the letter.
3. What information u think shud be explained in full details just write that information in the letter (The one u think can confuse the caseworker)

Thank you for your reply.

Should I explain in cover letter that

I have maintained the £800 for a period of three months from 11th May to 12 August
Because I use two bank statements (UK and overseas)
1 covers from 03/03 - 12/08
1 from 01/04 to 03/08

It may not be easy for them to work out I have always maintained that amount of money in what period.

The second problem is that in my passport my name appears as
Surname (Last name) then First Name. It is my country convention.
But in all docs I have in UK I have my name in reverse order ( First name then Lastname) ... which is normal

Should I make a cover letter explaining about these?

1. The name issue shud not be a problem as u wud have u visa extensions for the same passport u used previously and HO will have a record of it anyway.
2. Bank statements can be explained as u stated above.

Or should I just put all statements in 1 plastic bag and stick a note on this saying that 3 months is from ... to ..

And should I use highlight pen to highlight important parts in my docs, for example, highlight the start and end date of the 3 months..

Another thing is how can you staple 49 papers of the application? using just paper clip?

I am going to apply today or tomorrow the latest so...a lot of silly questions
