A question about Spouse Visa, I need help please

I have been working for a multinational consultancy and about 2 days ago have been made redundant.

My wife application in Pakistan is still under process at the British High Commission, my concern is will our application be effected now? since I do not have a job and need to find one quick.

Our application is still being processed and its been more than 6 months now.

The last we heard from the British High Commission was mid December that they have referred our case to the HMRC, for the HMRC to do checks on my taxes. I have no concerns as my taxes are up to date.

What if hmrc tell the home office this such person stopped working in Feb, what would happen?
How long does it take for the home office to complete a hmrc check? can any one please advice me.

what if I find a job next week, then what would happen? I have some interviews lined up so should get something. Im a confident person.

I am also stressed that the home office in Pakistan are taking to much time to process an application, me and my wife are very upset.
