Question about supporting documents

Hi,

I am applying for a Tier 2 (General) visa and have a question about certain documents that I need to provide.

Firstly, for the maintenance funds my A-rated sponsor is guaranteeing my maintenance and so I am not relying on my own funds. Does the fact that my sponsor is guaranteeing my maintenance only need to be indicated in the Certificate of Sponsorship or should I also provide a written letter from them stating this as well? Is there any benefit to me also providing my own bank statements to show that I have adequate personal funds at the time of application?

Secondly, I am Canadian but I also hold Egyptian citizenship through my Egyptian father. On the application there is a question that asks "do you hold any other nationalities?" to which I have answered "yes". My question is: do I need to provide documentary proof of my Egyptian citizenship? I do not hold (and have never held) an Egyptian passport.
My understanding is that documentation is essential to support attributes for which you are claiming points under the points-based system, but how important is documentary proof for things like additional nationalities? Do I risk having my application refused if I do not provide any proof of my Egyptian citizenship?

1. ur sponsor must declare maintenance in ur COS. additional letter would be helpful. ur bank statements not required.

2. u must not hide anything from UKBA. i dont think u need to prove additional nationalities, double check in tier 2 guidance notes. however passport is not the only document to prove Egyptian nationality. simple national ID card would do or a letter from Egyptian embassy may fulfill ur desperation.
