Question on criminal convictions

Post by nq0312 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:40 pm

I have an urgent question regarding question E1 (criminal convictions) in the Tier 4 application form.

I was stopped by police in 2007 while driving, and my vehicle was seized. I went to the police station the next day and was given two options:
1. Pay £190 penalty (if I remember correctly) and get the car back, or
2. Pay nothing and scrap the car

I chose number 2 and signed a section in the seizure notice to scrap the car, and that’s it. I’ve never been called to court hearing or anything.

Does that give me a criminal conviction (as in question E1)? Should I answer yes or no?

Thanks in advanced.

u may not have to if u were NOT arrested with fingers print taken but might fall under warning, caution, reprimand, etc, if u were arrested and therefore u'l have to.

in the application it clearly states that if you've had traffic offences? to my understanding, that is a traffic offence so you might want to mention it in your application or if you don't it might have implications on your overall application if they decide to run checks and verifications on the police database.
