Question - Danish Schengen Visa

Post by Ducky11 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 4:30 pm

Hi All,

Just have a quick question regarding a potential Danish Schengen visa application (travelling to Iceland). I will be applying from here - http://dk.vfsglobal.co.uk/

I am an Indian citizen living & working in the UK on a Tier 1 (General) work permit which expires on 13th February. I have an appointment with the home office on the 1st of February to have it extended for 2-years (premium same day service). This bodes well for me because my current job contract is over in mid-February so the timing is perfect for my application as I will be employed at the time.

In addition to this, I am travelling to Iceland in March so will need to apply for a Danish Schengen visa as soon as I get my passport back in hand with the Tier 1 (General) extension (before I am unemployed). I will schedule the appointment around the 6th of February so that I have some additional days in case the Tier 1 extension processing is delayed. I will still have a valid employment letter at the time, but will be out of work around the 11th of February. The end date will NOT be stated on my employment letter. Will this be a problem? Are they likely to contact my employer? I would be employed at the time of my application, but if their processing time goes beyond the 11th then I might be in trouble. I am aware that the processing time could be up to 15-days (as stated on the website), but I have heard that it never takes that long & is more likely to be completed within 4-5 days. All my documents & eligibility etc. is perfectly valid & there should be no reason for any discrepancies / delays.

I would appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Ducky
