Question on immigration history (Section D)

Post by dancerJWKS » Fri Sep 17, 2010 1:53 pm

Hi

I have a question with regards to the questions D2 and D3 with regards to where and when I got the entry clearance before entering the UK.

I first entered into the UK with a work permit in 17.11.2005. I obtained the visa on my passport in the British Embassy back in my home country.

I got my Tier 2 visa 11.08.2010. I got the BPR in the UKBA office in Croydon.

So when I answer the D2 (where) and D3 (when) questions, shall I refer to my first work permit obtained in my home country (as where) or my Tier 2 in the UK?

Thanks.

Entry clearance is issued by overseas diplomatic posts (BHC) not UKBA (UK).

Thanks. So shall I put the first work permit issue date and issue place in Section D? or put the information of Tier 2? but if I am using Tier 2, I was just switching from work permit to Tier 2, I didn't leave the country before obtaining the visa.

Let's try differently! When the form asks for entry clearance details and entry clearance is not issued by UKBA (UK), what details should you mention?

And, you need to mention the details (date, place etc.) of the visa, not your WP / CoS.

Very sorry, I guess I was trying to make my questions short so I made more confusion.

D2 - where did the applicant obtain entry clearance or a visa before travelling to the UK?
The form expected to give answer of Country and City.
So question 1 - shall I refer to my first work permit (which was expired) or my Tier 2 visa? But I didn't get my Tier 2 to come into the UK. So I am asking if I shall refer to my work permit.

If I am referring to my work permit, does that mean the country that I should write down = my home country/ city?

It should be the Work permit on which you first came into this country. On the Entry clearance (vignette on passport) you have the place of issue which goes into Post(city) field. You also have the date of issue and it goes into the date of entry clearance.
