Question regarding funds and ielts

Hello Everyone,
I had a couple of questions regarding the UK student visa:

1. Do I need to provide an IELTS score with my visa application, even though the university did not ask for my scores as my undergraduate degree was taught in English? I am not a native speaker of English.

2. Do I have to show my account balance (to show my funds) in Pounds or can the balance be in any currency?

The mandatory testing is being introduced for students below degree level right?
If I do have to submit an IELTS regardless of whether the university asked for it for my postgrad course or not, is there a minimum score that I have to get?

Also, can my funds be a combination of a loan and my own funds?

I guess they can be provided you have a bank letter for the loan.
