Question on renewed British passports

On a renewed passport (so your second or later passport), is there anything inside the passport which indicates it is connected to your previous passport? Something like a page inside that says 'this passport was issued to replace previous passport number X'?

If not, is there anything in the passport which says it's not your first British passport?

There are no references to previous British passport(s), or to a first passport, or whether it is (not) a first passport.
