Questions about probationary citizenship after July 2011

Background: (work permit/tier 2 visa from Sept. 2006 to present).
As far as I know, the earned citizenship will be introduced in July 2011, and I can only apply for probationary citizenship in September 2011 (5 years).
Questions:
1. To apply for the probationary citizenship, what is the requirement for absence days? still 180days for 5 yrs, and 30 days a year?
2. To keep the probationary citizenship after 2011, what is the requirement for staying period per year in UK? The reason to ask is, I have plan to work 6 months in UK and 6 months abroad after 2011.
3. My wife is a dependent now. After she obtains the probationary citizenship in 2011, can she apply for British citizenship by herself and not dependent upon me? (I am probably not qualified due to my absence dates...)

I don't think anybody can answer these questions at the moment - with the commencement being some 1.5 years away the guidelines simply do not exist yet.

own right and for permanent residence after
a minimum of 3 years. To qualify for British
citizenship and permanent residence dependants
will need to be supported by the main applicant
and to have obeyed the law.

seems still not a clear answer to my question 3. not sure wether or not need me myself as a "main applicant". guess too early to know about the future...

As you rightly said, from a 2008 version of a publication .. but publication of what? a law or a consultation document??

You are asking members to answer query on a legislation that is not yet promulgated. Hence, at the moment anyone's guess is as good as yours!
