Reapplying after being rejected

Post by Lolcats101 » Thu Oct 02, 2014 4:55 pm

Hi,

A couple months ago I applied for an Ancestry visa so i can go to school in the UK but it was rejected as they couldn't find a clear link between myself and my dad (although there was a clear enough link between my dad and grandmother who the claim is based) I provided full birth certificate and court documents listing him as my father but yet, they still rejected my visa application. It took 11 business days to receive my visa.

Right away, (less than 2 weeks later) I reapplied for the ancestry visa, but this time I included photos, sworn/notarized statements as well as a legal DNA test. My application was submitted Aug. 20th and opened Aug, 26th in New York. However, as of yet I have yet to receive a response back (I was supposed to arrive for school on Sept. 14 but they've extended me until Oct. 10). I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. Why it might be delayed and how long the delay might take and lastly, is there anything I can do about it? My friends applied for their visa the same time/after me and they both got it in 11 days yet I'm nearing 30 business days. When I look up the expected time it says 11 days average, 15 days (90%), 30 (98%) 60 (100%). I've tried calling VFS Global but I can never get through as their lines are always down/closed even though I call when they're supposed to be open and whenever I email them they just send a generic response back saying “a decision on your application has been delayed whilst further enquiries are being conducted”

So, anyone have any advice? I'd much rather not lose everything I've been working on to move to the UK and all the money I've already invested in school and everything (almost $7,000 CAD)
