received letter after 6 months after apply for BRP due to lost ILR

Post by Bbkay » Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:54 pm

I applied for NTL as lost my ilr stamped passport. I already have a new passport since then as the ILR stamped passport was a very old one.

I have reported my ILR being lost to police and apply for NTL BRP. after 6 months of waiting, today I got a letter asking me to produce my passport which has the ILR on it. Which I don’t.
What do I do?

Send the police report as well as a copy of ILR if you have it.

I don’t have the copy of the ILR, it’s so silly of me not keeping a copy.
Yeah I’ve sent them the crime reference number as that’s all they have given me. So I hope that’s sufficient.

Waited 6 months for this, I wish they had ask me sooner rather than don’t know how much longer would I need to wait from now.

As was advised by Zimba, send the lost property police reference number and, if one was provided, the police report, alongside a cover letter stating that you lost the original passport with the vignette. I was in the same boat, and I lost my passport years ago. Only applied for a replacement NTL BRP last October, got a letter requesting the original passport and any replacement one, along with all original documents showing proof of residency in February. Wrote a cover letter and sent what I had, excluding any passports as I never applied for a replacement. Got a reply 3 weeks later, all was good and my BRP arrived 3 days later.

I’ve sent them a cover letter explaining I don’t have to original passport as it’s lost. Also provide them the police report. I’ve sent it back in end of feb. Still heard nothing. Sigh!! I started this application back in sept. Waiting anxiously!
