Recent experience at Heathrow Airport

Post by therock » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:21 am

Hi, I came back to UK after 9 weeks holiday abroad.. Here are the questions asked...

Q: What's your company name?
A: XYZ Limited

Q: Is your company registered? (So funny question, when I already said XYZ Limited)
A: Yes, of course,

Q: Tell me more about your business.
A: I do blah blah, I provide blah blah services,

Q: Where have you studied?
A: In University of Blah Blah (UK)

Q: What have you studied?
A: BSC in Blah Blah,

Q: Who are your clients?
A: ABC Ltd, Blah Ltd, Blah LLC

Q: Have you invested any money yet?
A: Yes, I have invested £25,000 so far in my business,

Q: Where is the remaining money?
A: In my account.

Q: How much tax have you paid last year.
A: £AMOUNT

Q: How much tax are you going to pay this year?
A: £AMOUNT to £AMOUNT

Q: Have you employed anyone yet?
A: Not yet, she said Why?, I said because its not required yet, its only required for extension, she said no, its required, She went inside and came back after 25 minutes and stamped the passports etc.

She said, she will put a note on my record and will not ask these questions, (Thats what another immigration officer said last year, but I was bothered again),

I think if you know what you are doing and are a genuine entreprenur, there is no need to worry.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing!

Really surprised they asked about how much tax. A bit over the top, you have just been on holiday for 9weeks and they expect you to remember tax figures for last year and current year! C'mon Border control give us a break. I like your last answer though.

Going on holiday soon and will carry trailer load of business documents based on this. Don't want to be thinking about how much tax I will pay during my holiday, stressed out already.
