Referee middle name is missing

Post by zeo2020 » Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:21 pm

Hi all,

I searched and found a couple of topics about it however I couldn't understand what route they took and as if their applications completed successfully.

One of my British referee's known by me with only their first name and last name (including in their professional emails, social media etc). I filled the form with it, shared with them and after their confirmation, I submitted the application.

Then they posted the referee form with a date before application submission with their middle name.

What should I do now? Option 1/Should I ask them to sign it with new date with their full name (including their middle name) or 2/leave it as it is (signed document 2 days before online application submission) or 3/include a note about it and submit with referee doc or 4/have them signed with their first name and last name only?

If I leave this as it is, will they reach out just to confirm? I don't think this should cause/end up with refuse/rejection if I am eligible with other requirements?

Any guidance will be very much appreciated.

This is not something applications get rejected for.
I don’t even think you need to do anything about this. The important document is the signed referee declaration which is correct.
They may double check with you but again no issue.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

They may investigate this discrepancy referee, eg ask for a copy of their passport, but you won't get a point blank refusal just for this. Alert the referee to be on the lookout in case they get in touch, check spam/junk folders regularly.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.

Thank you both, then that means I should just leave it as it is, warn the referee to be alerted for next 3/4 months (hopefully sooner) and praying for smooth approval :)

Yes, leave everything as it stands now. That shouldn't be an issue.

The referee will be contacted if they have any question about the reference provided.
