Refusal reasons by UK Embassy around the world

Hi everyone, my friend's Mother in law, visit visa was refused recently with completely stupid and irrelevant comments. my friend "brother in law" who was here on student visa , recently had a psychological/mental attack and was admitted in a hospital. His mother applied for visa who is around 55+ was refused on following reasons

1. why she hasn't applied for student or work permit visa.
2. who will financially support her while she is in UK (when her other son submitted all of his tax returns, business details, bank statements and took responsibility that he will bare all the expenses etc on a letter)

I find all of the above reasons irrelevant and stupid.

Thought, I start a new thread (if already not available) and see if other can also put their experiences etc
