Regarding Fasttrack British passport

Post by Nivmun » Sat Nov 20, 2021 4:25 pm

Hi All, Hope you all doing good.
I need some suggestion to apply British passport for my 2 yo daughter.
My husband holding ILR since June 2021. We applied for MN1 application for my daughter and we received certificate today.
Can someone please let us know what has to be done next?
1) Do we need to apply for her ceremony?
2) Or we can directly apply for British Passport.

Can we apply for fasttrack passport service as Me and my husband still holding Indian passport?

TIA

1. Children don't need to attend a ceremony - they are British once the certificate is received.
2. Go straight for the passport application.
3. For children you can apply using FastTrack (even for first passport).

Hi alerthase58

I'm checking for FastTrack service now and there is no online form need to submit. Just need to take form from post office. need to fill it and has to submit all necessary documents.

But when I tried to book an appointment for same I got below message which might need to consider as I'm having Indian passport with tier 2 dependent and my husband has Indian passport with ILR.

Most children can use this service.

In rare situations though, children can't use this service because they are applying for a first British passport under 'Treaty Rights'. A Treaty Rights application is where both of the following apply:
1) XYZ has a parent who was born outside the UK and who is an EEA national(opens new window), and
2) XYZ has not been registered as a British Citizen.
If both apply to XYZ then you can't use this service. You'll need to contact the Passport Adviceline on 0300 222 0000 for information on how to get a passport.

Can you please tell me if I'm still eligible for FastTrack service or not?

TIA

1) together with 2) don't apply - you are not an EU citizen born outside the UK (Treaty Rights applications are for EU citizens only).
So you should be able to apply with child's birth certificate and evidence of ILR at the time of birth, i.e. father's BRP.
