Regarding offer of employment

Hi all,

I would like to ask query regarding offer of employment. Suppose you have accepted the offer of employment from one employer and before joining that employer you got another offer of employment from other employer. That another offer gives you better opportunity and good prospects and good salary than the first offer of employement. So in that case what you can do? Are you allowed to accept the second offer letter though you have already accepted the offer letter from one employer and supposed to join them very soon. Do you need to inform the first employer that you are not going to join them and you want to cancel their accepted offer? Will you get bound with first employer by accepting their employment offer?

Please all the members especially moderators are requested to reply me asap. I am getting offer letter from one NHS as my paper work is almost completed. And my paper work is just started for reputed bank in UK. But I am not sure about bank offer letter till my checks will get completed as I am non EU resident in UK but with valid visa. But there is emploment gap of 18 months. So could you advise me in this case what to do? Can I accept the offer from NHS and if I get the offer from Bank I can cancel the offer of NHS and accept the offer form Bank. The advantage of Bank are its a full time job and half an hour distance from my place and salary is also good. That NHS if far away from my place. It will take around one and half hour from my place and also its a 20 hours per week job and salary is also less than Bank salary. But if I am unsuccessful in Bank's paperwork I don't want to lose the opportunity for working for NHS which will give me an opportunity to start my career in UK.
