Related to Visa transference to New Passport:

Dear All

Do I require to transfer my visa to my new passport in order to maintain validity of both ? My visa is valid until 21/01/2012 however passport is expiring in July 2010. An I am scheduled to travel by the end of July 2010.

Looking forward to see your response. If answers made by providing sources will be great. If not than only knowledge sharing would also be appreciated.

your visa is valid until the date mentioned on the visa. FACT

if your passport expires BEFORE the expiry of visa, then you should apply for new passport (via high commission of your country or from home country). The new passport will then be stapled with your old passport which has CURRENT visa.

you dont need to transfer visa to new passport as its not mandatory.

BOTH passports should be kept whenever travelling.
