Hello, to cut to the chase. I am due to submit my ILR application through the 10-year residency route in two days. I had the form filled out and put myself as being in 'unmarried relationship', and so the form was automatically asking me to submit evidence of my partner and I living at the same address. Today, I have taken concrete steps to end this highly dysfunctional and toxic relationship. I've never been on a spousal visa (I'm applying on the basis of my Tier-4 student visa, doctoral extension scheme visa and skilled workers visas). Am I ok to change my relationship status on the form as 'single' as I've broken the relationship, even though it will take time to untangle our living situation? Or, because we pay joint council tax, am I obligated to put down my status as 'unmarried partner'? I'd rather not include this person on my form at all and feel quite lucky that my immigration status has never depended on them. This is a very stressful situation to go through on top of applying for ILR and any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you.
