Removal from the UK

Post by katowise » Fri Jan 28, 2011 3:03 pm

Hello,I am abit confused and was hoping that someone here might be able to help me.
I went to the UK on a marriage visa in 2008. Unfortunately the marriage did not work coz of domestic violence that was involved and fights on petty issues. After separation I stayed for a while in the hopes of reconciliation,December 2009 I went to France for Christmas to visit some family friends and when I came back in january 4th,2010 I was stopped at the heathrow term 5. They asked me some questions about my husband and I and I told them what was going on. They held my passport and told me that they will contact my husband to know the status of our marriage. After some days they called to say that they had contacted him and he had said that he didnt want anything to do with me.I was served with a removal form with option to appeal. I decided to appeal but due to lack of enough evidence on domestic violence i withdrew the appeal.
*In October 2009 I had started applying to serve in the armed forces and did all my interviews and passed very well. So after withdrawing the appeal I decided to apply for another visa to be able to wait for a starting date but they refused.

I was then asked to leave and they booked my flight and was to leave in 5 days after receipt of the letter.No one ever asked me to pay for my flight. I got my job contract with the British army where I am to start in May and have to get a visitor's visa in order to go and start my basic training. Just wondering if all these things will go against my application.

Please help.

Are you back in your home country?
I am correct in thinking that your flight was paid for?
I think you will not be able to get a visa

How long are applicants automatically refused for?

1 year if they left the UK voluntarily, whether or not at public expense;
5 years if they left UK voluntarily, at public expense;
10 years if they were removed or deported from the UK;
10 years if they practised deception (which includes using false documentation) in support of a previous visa application.

Yes my flight was paid for but at the same time i was never given the chance to pay for myself.I left on the date they asked me to,and again can they hold it against me that the marriage didnt work?

So my job contract with British Army cariies no weight at all to help me?

Thanks
